I wish there were more sports teams in Shaoguan...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guangzhou_Songri_F.C.
I know there is a indoor football team that plays in the Peal River Delta League from the University's stadium, but Shaoguan has millions of people. Where are the other teams??
The current coach of the Chinese national team even played in Shaoguan.
I would love to go watch professional football every week, damn it!
Perhaps someone rich out there can get a team going again??
Guangzhou Songri (Simplified Chinese: 广州松日足球俱乐部) was a football club in Shaoguan, Guangdong, China.
Founded in 1996, Guangzhou Songri was promoted to Jia A in the same year as the runner up of the second division. The team was relegated in the next season, but was able to fight back with the help of coach Xu Genbao and striker Gao Hongbo. After ranked 4th in the following year, the team was relegated again in 1999, and relegated from the second division in 2000 due to financial reasons. The club was dismantled in the offseason
