Hi Alex, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still keen on going to the English corner tomorrow! I am a bit iffied-out about the bus situation, though, so let me know what you had in mind for ferrying my little self over there and back. I'll be sure to put my Chinese sim card in my phone tomorrow, in case if we need to text message (because I can't call you yet, can only listen to tinny classical music.) Yay!

Hi Alex, yes 7pm is perfect! Where shall I meet you? At the McDonalds or is there a closer place? I will put my Chinese sim card in tonight at 6pm, so I'll be able to receive texts if we need to. Also, I have a bunch of 1 dollar (well rmb) bills but they're different sizes...are they still 1 rmb or are some of them cents, or whatever the equivalent is? Why is my money all different sizes??? *goes crazy*

Yeah, 7pm outside the McDonald's is fine

The 1 yuan bills are green and have Chairman Mao on them. The smaller ones are various multiples of 10 cents. The brown ones are 10 cents (1 jiao), green 20 cents (2 jiao) and burgundy are 50 cents (5 jiao). When I first came to China I tried to pay for a 20 RMB taxi with using 4 x 5 jiao notes as i thought they were 5 yuan! I couldn't understand why the driver wasn't accepting them ha
